This photograph was captured in Brussels during the fall of 2021, on a casual day out with my school friends. As we wandered through the city streets talking about our lives, I happened to see this dog peeking out from a window, almost as if it was keeping watch over the world below. What struck me the most was how perfectly the colors aligned - the warm tones of the bricks seemed to mirror the dog’s fur, creating a natural harmony. But it was the dog’s eyes that truly brought the image to life. They’re so expressive, almost as if they’re looking directly at you, full of curiosity or perhaps longing. The dark room behind it only heightened the contrast, making the dog the undeniable focus of the scene.
As I was walking back home with my friend Boopathi, I captured this during the winter of 2022. The woman was fully absorbed in the task of taking a photo of her partner. Her bright yellow jacket popped against the snowy backdrop, immediately capturing attention. Beside her, was their dog, an attentive loyal presence, standing just behind her, was fixated on the man, almost as if it, too, was taking in the moment. It was a quiet, shared moment between them, and the dog’s gaze added a layer of connection that tied everything together.
This photograph was taken in Interlaken during the summer of 2023. As my friends, Abhinav and Anju, and I were enjoying our final walk of the trip, we stopped for a moment by the lake. The water was clear and perfectly calm. Just then, I noticed a boy standing at the edge of a small cliff, clearly preparing to jump. With my camera ready, I managed to capture the exact moment he made the leap into the water. Abhinav, full of enthusiasm, urged me to jump in as well, but I wasn’t in the mood to get wet, and my poor friend reluctantly stayed dry too.
Coco is my friend’s (Muhab) dog. Coco knew me quite well since me and Muhab worked together and he used to bring Coco to work. One of the days Muhab came over to my place and we went to a near by park to play with Coco. It suddenly started raining and Coco just stood there in awe, feeling every bit of the drop. Luckily I had the camera with me and I was able to capture this moment.
This photograph was captured in Mumbai in 2021 when my school friend took me around to explore the city. I spotted this cat, freshly triumphant after catching a mouse. Despite its small size, it had a fierce intensity in its eyes, perhaps displeased with the camera yet still permitting me to snap a few shots.
This photograph was captured in Norway in September 2021. As I paused to take a moment of the absolute still landscape, a bird caught my eye, gliding towards the water. I adjusted my camera settings and managed to capture the brief moment before touch down. With wings fully spread, it made two small jumps before settling on the water, each jump adding a sense of motion and vitality to the tranquil landscape.
